People struggle with decision-making all the time.  They say things like, “I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I keep making the same bad decisions over and over again.  It happened this way before and now it’s happened the same way again!  I just can’t seem to make a good decision.”  Decision making is a mental process that forces a person to select a course of action from several alternatives.   The goal of every decision is to produce a final choice.  Making decisions can seem to be rational or irrational and faulty information or assumptions can interfere with the process altering the final decision.  Some people make snap decisions.  Others agonize for days or weeks before they can decide.  Some never seem to make a decision at all.  Many give into peer pressure and make a “group think” decision.  Some people can easily make small decisions but choke up when an important decision needs to be made.  Sometimes, just deciding you need to make a decision is stressful for many people.  Why is decision-making so difficult and why do people keep making wrong decisions over and over? Continue reading »
