Can you be a criminal and not think of yourself as one? Sure you can, people do it all the time. They commit a heinous crime that they feel they could never do on their own, but in a group they condone it and justify it.
We are talking about the horrible crimes of war. We’re talking about killing men, women, and children you have never met. Bombing them, shooting them, starving them, denying them medicine. We’re also talking about ethnic cleansing and extreme prejudice, both religiously and racially. So how is it that this can happen?
Would any sane person go to the other side of the world and walk up to a person and shoot them in the head? Would any sane and loving person walk up to a child and kill them without having any feelings of compassion or love? Would this same person walk up to their neighbors child and shoot them? Would this same person go to a neighbors home one block away and destroy their home with a bomb? None of this is likely because this person doesn’t see themselves actually doing it.
However, when this same person supports a government’s policy, or succumbs to the pressure of special interest groups by waging a war on another country far away, they do not feel attached to the consequences of the policy, even though they support it as a politician. That’s why you rarely see a politician’s families joining the military. Deep down inside the politician sees their true self, his or her real self, and is ashamed of who they are. This can only stop when politicians decide to realize who exactly they are and what exactly they are responsible for.
QUESTION: What should readers take away from this message today?
ANSWER: That you can be one of the most heinous criminals in the world and deny it by disassociating yourself from the actual act.
QUESTION: Why is this information timely?
ANSWER: This information is timely because at most times during history wars have been occurring. It’s different when you get on a horse and charge at someone in the battle field and witness their suffering, than it is when you sign a piece of paper going to war and never witness or block out the consequences of your actions.
QUESTION: How can readers best apply this information to their lives right now?
ANSWER: Try being unsupportive of any war conflict and let your politicians know how you feel about them.
COMMENTARY: Politicians do what they do because that’s what they get paid to do. Some are better at their jobs than others, not because they are doing the moral thing, but because they are doing what’s expected of them by their handlers. Like anyone who works for just for the money, they justify it. The world is full of these kinds of justifications, that’s why it’s in such a mess. This type of behavior eats a person up from the inside out. It’s not sustainable and it’s karmic. That’s when the real payback occurs – now or later. It’s the soul seeking to re-balancing itself – to get it right.
