About the economic reports. According to the news the economy in America is doing just fine with almost 300,000 new jobs announced last week and unemployment down to around five percent.
This looks very good compared to the news over the past five years. However, what kind of jobs are these? Are they fast food jobs, minimum wage jobs? If so, the economy is not in good shape. A person can barely survive even if they have two minimum wage jobs. By the time you figure in transportation to the job, food on the job, and perhaps child care while at the job, you are working for nothing. This is a disincentive to have a job.
Now, what about the rest of the world? Do they have jobs? Is the economy in countries like Greece improving? Are currencies strong, or are they falling against the dollar? They are falling against the dollar. The Canadian dollar is now less than one to one with the U.S. dollar. It’s always been stronger before. How about the Euro? The Euro will prove out to be failed experiment.
Are any of your unemployed friends now working? You would think that with almost 300,000 new jobs at least one person you know got one of them. However, it’s mostly smoke and mirrors. These reports will be changed, or updated, or revised in a couple of weeks, most likely in an unfavorable direction. If you want to have a job security in the future, you should forget about education and focus on a skill. This skill must be something that you can go anywhere in the world and have work.
QUESTION: What should readers take away from this message today?
ANSWER: That with all the happy news coming out the revised forecast and numbers will be a disappointment.
QUESTION: Why is this information timely?
ANSWER: This information is timely because people are looking for something, anything, to hang a little hope on.
QUESTION: How can readers best apply this information to their lives right now?
ANSWER: People should get realistic. If jobs are scarce and money is tight then you must look at the areas where you are over-extended and cut back and sell everything you do not absolutely need to have.
COMMENTARY: On a personal note, Ray and I have been downsizing for years. Right now we are at the tail end of it. Starting in February of this year our guides told us to sell the rest of the stuff we don’t absolutely need. Last year we couldn’t give the stuff away, and now it’s all selling. See how your guides work for you! They see what you can’t in more ways than one. So heed their advise so you don’t become one of the masses who will wind up struggling.
